No installation is required. Simply download, extract, and start learning Django.

My work on a new tutorial is temporarily stalled.
The old tutorial can be found here: chapter1.html
Instant Django can be used with the tutorial in the official documentation.

Download the self-extracting executable, then double-click to extract.
Place the resulting folder in a convenient location.
Double-click 'start.bat' to launch the command line interface.

Update the development environment for Django 1.1.
Maybe someday finish additional tutorial chapters.
Include Mercurial and Winmerge basics in the tutorial.
Possibly base future versions on Portable Python.
